‘Postman’ Photo Uploader Adds Google+, Picasa Support

Postman - a slick photo uploader created for the Ubuntu App Showdown contest - has been updated to support new services. Joining Ubuntu One and Flickr as upload destinations are Google's social network 'Google+', and their photo-sharing website Picasa.

Free Version of Puzzle Game ‘Memory Owl’ Added to Ubuntu Software Center

A free 'lite' version of puzzle game Memory Owl HD has been added to the Ubuntu Software Center. Memory Owl HD takes the familiar game of finding pairs and merges it with the ‘gaming fad’ of now: a physics engine.

Ubuntu 12.10 Will Ship With Older Version of Nautilus

Ubuntu 12.10 will ship with an older version of Nautilus, an update has confirmed. GNOME's feature removals in Nautilus 3.5.x - which included the popular 'type-ahead' and 'split-pane' views - along with a streamlined UI redesign proved controversial with users.

Coverflow Returns to Unity in Ubuntu 12.10

A "coverflow" view has been added to Unity 's development branch for Ubuntu 12.10. The feature allows one to browse items by dragging them horizontally with the mouse, rather than the usual 'drop down, vertical' approach currently used in Unity.

Why Zeitgeist Is Not Evil

Privacy is the digital hot potato of today - and rightly so. What we do on our computers is, frankly, no-one else's business. We 'allow' some companies, such as Google and Facebook, to track what we do online so as to better serve us. And most of us don't mind. But is Zeitgeist - the 'relevancy engine' used in Ubuntu to keep track of which files and apps you use most - evil?

4 Extra Games Added to Latest Humble Bundle

Four extra titles have bee added to the latest Humble Bundle. Although none of the additional titles are 'new to Linux', having all been part of the first Humble Bundle for Android back at the start of this year, their addition still gives anyone who has yet to play them a cheap way to buy them.
