A signed version of GRUB2 that enables Ubuntu to work with Secure Boot devices is being prepped for Ubuntu 12.10. Further details about the change are expected from Canonical later today.
Ubuntu 12.10 Beta 2 is due out next thursday, which means that today marks the last date at which interface and feature changes can be added. I.e. It's exciting new features and changes time! The following updates have already landed in the 'Quantal Proposed' repo and - should nothing bar their way - trickle on down to Ubuntu 12.10 shortly.
Two web-apps are on-course to come pre-installed with Ubuntu 12.10: Amazon.com and Ubuntu One Music Store. Their addition is enabled by the introduction of integrated web app support in Ubuntu - an innovative feature that allows websites to "interact" with the Ubuntu desktop.
