Handy Skype plugin 'Skype-Wrapper' is now available to install from its own PPA. The tool helps to integrate popular VoIP client Skype with the Ubuntu desktop.
Of the certainties in life, such as life, death and taxes, is the fact that LibreOffice needs a new interface. And that's not me be being picky, but supportive of open-source's premier office suite. The 'good news' is that LibreOffice developers know this and discussion towards overhauling the tired look of the application set have been ongoing for a while. Amongst the interface proposal currently being discussed on the LibreOffice mailing list is the modern-looking 'Citrus'.
The writing is, seemingly, on the wall for note-taking application Tomboy with plans to be drop it from the default install of Ubuntu 12.04. The application will remain readily available in the Ubuntu Software Centre, where it will sit alongside competing note-taking applications. Amongst them is lightweight Tomboy 'GNote' - but is it really a match for the king of Linux note-taking apps?
