Unity is said to make your workflow faster and easier – but is this true?
Ubuntu contributor Jo-Erlend Schinstad decided to see how much time he would save using Unity compared to Gnome Panel (Classic) when performing a set of simple tasks.
‘I created a realistic task for myself, something I do very frequently,’ he told us.
‘[So I took] a couple of screenshots, manipulate them slightly in Pinta and send them in an email. I performed the same task in both Unity and Gnome Panel, recording both times.’
Jo then played both videos back side by side and recorded that to create the video below.
