A new job opening has been listed on the Canonical website for a Mac software developer to join the Ubuntu One engineering team.

The position, titled ‘Software Engineer (client applications Mac/Windows)’, requires applicants to have at least 5 years experience of developing on OS X, ‘including knowledge of low level APIs (Filesystem, shell integration)’, as well as experience in ‘Python, C and Objective C’.

Amongst the ‘key responsibilities’ listed for the role are the ‘development of cross-platform features and/or applications on Mac’ and ‘integration with the [mac] platform.’

The full listing can be viewed online.

Although Ubuntu One desktop clients are available for Linux and Windows – and mobile apps are available for Android and iOS – OS X users are only able to access/upload/download files in their Ubuntu One account using a web browser.
