Unless you’ve been living under a rock (or not reading this blog regularly, which is something you should address) you will have heard that a new Ubuntu-branded music store is in the works.

To date, it’s mostly been plans, details, blueprints, and the news it’s powered by 7Digital

Now, we have our first look at, er, what it looks like, courtesy of Ubuntu blogger Alan Pope, who shared this screenshot of the UbuntuOne Music Store in-situ:

It looks great

Now I’m excited.

As expected, the store is integrated in the Rhythmbox music player, meaning it’ll be available to all Ubuntu users right out of the box. It’s also clearly a plugin, meaning those who don’t want it, will likely be able to disable it.

Only question now is: when is it due for release?!
