A new version of ONLYOFFICE, an open source office suite for Windows, macOS and Linux, is available to download.

Side note: that isn’t me shouting; that’s how the app name is stylised! 😅

The latest release of this particular productivity suite adds a bunch of improvements across its three main apps, including new features designed to improve the privacy and security of your documents.

How? Well, you can now add digital signatures to protect confidential files to “verify their authenticity and make sure that no alternations have been made in transit” — which is pretty neat. OnlyOffice 6.2 also supports password protection of text files, slideshow presentations, etc.

This version of OnlyOffice is also able to connect to the open source file sync and share platform Seafile, in addition to its pre-existing plugs for NextCloud and OwnCoud. While this isn’t something I’d use, it is great to see OnlyOffice integrating with popular open source cloud tools.

For more details on these and other changes you can watch this short video overview put together by the folks at OnlyOffice:

OnlyOffice 6.2 is free, open source software available for Windows, macOS, and Linux PCs. The download page has more details on these offerings, including .deb installers for Ubuntu and Linux Mint distributions.

Official Snap and Flatpak packages are available too. These should be updated to the 6.2.0 release in the coming days, so feel free to install the older version now and be upgraded to the latest soon.
