GNOME release party manchesterAre you in the UK? Within reasonable reach of Manchester? And a fan of the GNOME desktop?

If you answered with an enthusiastic ‘yes’ to all three questions you might be interested to know there’s a GNOME release party taking place this coming Friday, 23rd September.

GNOME 3.22 is due for release on September 21, 2016.

The GNOME release party is taking place at MADLab HQ in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. This venue is just a couple of minutes walk from the Arndale Shopping Centre, and a couple of ‘couple of minutes’ walk from Manchester’s main train stations.

GNOME developer Sam Thursfield says the party starts at 6PM and ends at 9PM, and that attendees can look forward to “free refreshments, an overview of the new features in 3.22, advice on how install a free desktop OS on your computer and how contribute to GNOME or a related Free Software project.”

Don’t be shy as the party is open to everyone, from the nervous Linux newbies to anarchic free software fanatics.
