Ubuntu 12.04 has been adding much needed functionality to many of its default apps though new ‘quicklists’.

Quick lists, which are accessed by right-clicking an an application’s launcher item, house application-specific actions, Launcher locking, and for running apps, a quit entry.

New Quick lists.

New default remote desktop client Remmina, disc-burning tool Brasero, music player Rhythmbox, text editor Gedit, movie player Totem, and KDE disc burner k3b, have all gained right-click actions.

Small but important improvements to the Ubuntu experience, in my opinion.
