Ubuntu’s shaky support for users of multiple monitors has long been an issue for many.

But as part the fit and polish of planned for Ubuntu 12.04, users will soon find themselves at the helm of a well supported and dependable multi-screen solution.

A UDS session held earlier today laid out the  technical and practical implementations of  multi-monitor support in Ubuntu 12.04.

After the session a ‘working prototype demo’ was made available for interested developers, users, and, well, anyone who was passing by, to play with.

As someone who gets confused using more than workspace, the functions and needs of multi-monitor users is not my forte.

But I can admit that the demo, shown off below, which features Unity-bug-fixer supremo Andrea Azzarone and the awesome David Callé, is a very big step in the right direction.
