Work on ‘Beatbox’, the elementary project’s media player, is continuing apace.
The development branch has seen the initial introduction of an album-art view, miller columns as well as support for Ubuntu’s Sound Menu.
With Beatbox still in active development many of these features have flaws, bugs and issues, but my initial reaction to these features is positive, particularly with regard to the album browser.
A Beatbox Development PPA is available for testing purposes.
However, users of this should note that some of the features mentioned above are yet to land in those builds and, as with everything development related, subject to refinement and change between now and first stable release.
