One feature in popular Linux Dock application Docky that I personally adore/could no longer live without is ‘Stacks’ – a neat visual approach to displaying files within a folder via the dock.

Despite my dependence on this feature its worth being aware that it isn’t even stable yet!

We’ve covered the development of the Stacks plugin since its inception back in TIME

If you want to try it out – the usual caveats for trying out ‘in-development’ software applies here kiddies – the following automated script by panticz will allow you to do so with relative ease.

Install Stacks in Docky with one command

The script automatically fetches and installs the files needed to both install and successfully run Docky with Stacks.

Open a terminal and enter the following line carefully: –

wget -O – | bash –

Cheers Erik!
