The first beta release of Thunderbird 5, the next version of Mozilla’s desktop e-mail application, has been made available for testing.
Thunderbird 5 Beta sees several new features and enhancements, including a new add-ons manager, a new-look account creation wizard and tab reordering/dragging to new windows.
Also present is a new troubleshooting page to better help diagnose problems within the application.
As should be expecting when using development releases some extensions that work in earlier builds of Thunderbird may be ‘incompatible and/or require updates to work with Thunderbird Beta.’
Thunderbird is on course to be the default e-mail client in Ubuntu 11.10.
