Wildfire games have announced the fifth alpha release of their open-source warfare game ‘0 A.D.’.
Gameplay in this alpha sees the introduction of a new civilization, the Iberians, an improved enemy AI and a new map: Acropolis II, “…in which the Iberians face off the Hellenes.”
Other improvements and changes include: –
- Improved graphics in lighting, particles, terrain and performance.
- New bridges
- New sound effects and music tracks

0 A.D. Alpha 5 can be installed in Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04 via the 0 A.D. PPA.
From a terminal run the following two commands separately, entering your user password where prompted.
- sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wfg/0ad
- sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install 0ad
Alternatively add ‘ppa:wfg/0ad’ to your Software Sources via the Ubuntu Software Centre.
