Batch rename files in Ubuntu with ‘Renamer ‘

Having to rename a group of files – whether they’re photos or general files – can be a time consuming process unless you make use of a batch-renaming tool.

‘Renamer’ is one such tool. A small nautilus script written in python and gtk+, it is able to batch rename files in nautilus via right click and specifying a naming pattern. A refreshable preview lets you see whether the pattern you’ve entered is the one you want and an Undo feature lets you rename with peace of mind.

Renamer can be found on Launchpad @ launchpad.net/nautilus-renamer or downloaded at gtk-apps.org
