I'm always slightly weary of promoting kick-starter projects. The cynic in me is always predicting vapourware. But sometimes it's worth putting your faith in a project - particularly when it's backed by someone with good standing within the wider community, and their project happens to look and sound as awesome as this. Play Angry Birds clone ‘Angry Animals’ on your Ubuntu desktop (including offline!)

Angry Birds may or may not be coming to Linux natively but in the mean time fans of propellant animal games (Yeah, I just coined that. Sue me) can get their fix with unabashed flash clone 'Angry Animals'. The following script downloads the game to your desktop, letting you play it offline.

Play Angry Birds under wine on Linux

Rovio media have no plans to actually bring Angry Birds to Linux, with their previous statement it being something they were 'looking into' since translated as 'no plans at all.' Still, if you're an Angry Birds fan looking to get your feathery fix on Linux you still can - using everyone's favourite binary beverage 'Wine'.
