In the world of Linux clipboard managers few can match the panache of Pano, a GNOME Shell extension I first wrote about last year.
Pano offers an interactive, visually-rich dashboard from which to store, search, and organise your clipboard history. It’s similar to the popular macOS app Paste but arguably better since it’s free, open-source software and works on Linux.
Well, I’m pleased to report that this flashy productivity aid (which can be navigated entirely from the keyboard, if you want) now supports GNOME 45 and Ubuntu 23.10.
Better yet, the add-on now lets you choose where on screen it appears (top, left, right, or bottom), lets you choose the fonts used within its UI, and wiggles the panel icon when new content is copied to the clipboard.

These new features add to the ones the extension already has, which range from adding apps to an exclusion list, changing the size of content previews, adjusting the keyboard shortcut used to open it, hiding the panel icon, and more.
You can install Pano from the GNOME extensions website, though the easiest way to install GNOME Shell extensions on Ubuntu is using the Extensions Manager desktop app. This is available in Ubuntu repos or you can find it on Flathub.
To use Pano on Ubuntu you also need to install the libgda and gsound packages. Without these the extension will not work. Run sudo apt install gir1.2-gda-5.0 gir1.2-gsound-1.0 in a terminal app to install these dependencies.
In summary, a perfect uplift for this engaging, modern clipboard manager.
