Postman – a slick photo uploader created for the Ubuntu App Showdown contest – has been updated to support new services.

Joining Ubuntu One and Flickr as upload destinations are Google’s social network ‘Google+’, and their photo-sharing website Picasa.

Changes have also been made to Flickr authentication, which is now cached locally. This means that you will no longer need to login to Flickr and ‘authenticate’ Postman each time you upload photos.

There are some bug fixes and minor UI tweaks, most notable of which is a new icon and positioning for the “flip envelope” switch.

You can see our video guide to Postman, made before Google support was added, in the player below.

Postman is still not yet available to install from the Ubuntu Software Center (it has been submitted, so will appear soon).

In the meantime you don’t need to miss out: the official website @ postman-delivery.appspot.com provides the relevant PPA instructions as well as a .Deb installer.
