Desktop YouTube app ‘MiniTube’ has been updated with a new ‘compact mode’.

The feature reduces the app window to the size of the video, showing nothing but the video and window title bar.

Compact mode also forces MiniTube to stay on top of other windows, making it useful for watching and working at the same time.

Other features of MiniTube not exclusive to this release, but still worth mentioning in case you’ve not heard of the application before, include: –

  • Flash-free video playback
  • 1080p playback support
  • Social sharing of video links
  • Continuous playback based on keyword of channel
