MuiscTube – the desktop music player that uses YouTube as a Music library – has received a handful of minor new features in its latest update.

Support for Last.FM scrobbling of played tracks and the addition of GNOME notifications when the main MusicTube window is closed make for welcome additions.

The application also gains a little bit of Unity integration by way of a quicklist, with player controls and track information items no more than a click away.

MusicTube is available to buy from the Ubuntu Software Center priced at $11.99. One caveat to note before buying: the application doesn’t support Ubuntu 64bit.

Want to try before you buy? No worries – a nag-screen loaded demo version of the application can be downloaded from the Musictube homepage @ flavio.tordini.org/musictube.
