If it seems like it was only last week that I mentioned Boggle-style word game Tanglet – but that’s because it was!

But my timing in highlighting the app was ripe: Tanglet has just been updated with improved graphics and new game-play feature.

What’s new in Tanglet?

A brand new icon: –

New 2D “die” style game graphics: –

New difficulty levels: –

Tanglet options

Also present in the update is a ‘word count’ status box; the ability to import and export games; and a switch to Wiktionary as the word list backend.

Dutch and Hebrew translations have been added, too.

How to install Tanglet in Ubuntu 11.10

An older version of Tanglet is available to install through the Ubuntu Software Centre. But for the newly updated version mentioned above you will need to add the following PPA to your Software Sources: –

ppa:gottcode/gcppa

The PPA support Ubuntu 10.04 through to 11.10.

Once you have added the PPA you will need to run an update prior to installing or upgrading Tanglet.
