Skype Wrapper, a third-party plugin that integrates VoIP client Skype with Ubuntu’s Messaging Menu, has been updated with some new features.

The change-log for the latest version of the utility, which is currently maintained by the awesome Shannon Black of theforge, includes: –

  • Now removes items from Messaging Menu than have been marked read within Skype
  • Listens for people coming and going offline
  • Displays full name and avatar in notifications
  • Uses Ubuntu’s native notifications
  • Draw-attention for indicators
  • Improved multithreaded listening to the skype APO
