LibreOffice in Ubuntu 11.10 will not come with global menu support enabled by default.

Announcing the minor change via his blog, Canonical’s Björn Michaelsen cited ‘stabiltiy concerns’ as the main reason for disabling the add-on by default.

It’s a disappointing but perfectly understandable decision that will ensure users of LibreOffice in Ubuntu 11.10 benefit from a stable and dependable office suite.

The package (“lo-menubar”) will remain easily installable from the Ubuntu Software Centre in Ubuntu 11.10 for those willing to use it.
