Cool things in Unity #458: Informative icon overlays.
A while back we mentioned that the Unity Launcher in Natty was to add support for badges/counts, transfer/progress bars and ‘quick lists’ on launcher icons, similar to that seen in use on Docky.
This ‘support’ is provided by the Launcher API, which now has a detailed wiki page for application developers wishing to take advantage of these features to refer to.
