With many new users trying out desktop coverart application CoverGloobus since its 1.7 release, a fair few are likely wondering how to can ditch the blue ‘gloobus’ symbol sat in the notification area.

There are two ways to do this.

Firstly you can disable the tray icon altogether via the Gloobus-Config settings. A painless procedure: –

  • Head to system > preferences > CoverGloobus Configuration
  • Choose the ‘Genera’ tab
  • Uncheck ‘Show status icon in system tray’
  • Hit save

If you prefer having the icon on display but want some mono-marriage you can swap it out with the neat mono icon below, created by alexbuzeta.
