Wine 1.2 STable Released – 2 years, 23, 000 changes

Wine 1.2 stable has finally been released today after more than two years of development.

The release sees support for 64bit applications, new Tango-based icons (props to Joel Holdsworth who helped lead the work on the refresh), 3, 000 bug fixes and a staggering 23,000 changes. [tango-wine[7].jpg]


Ubuntu users can get this update by adding the Wine PPA using the following: –

  • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
  • sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install wine
