A new bug fix release of the popular Shutter screenshot tool for Linux is now available to download.
Shutter 0.92 sees a number of outstanding stability issues affecting Ubuntu and Arch Linux users patched, including two troublesome crashes related to image editing, one of the tool’s core features.
Plugins for three defunct image hosting services, including Ubuntu One, have been removed.
Shutter is one of the most versatile screenshot utilities available for Linux, with an open-source feature set letting you capture shots of your desktop, windowed apps and menus, plus edit, crop and add annotations, text and other visual effects to them.
Install Shutter 0.92
As with its previous release in June, users of Ubuntu 10.04, 12.04 LTS, 14.04 LTS and 14.10 can install the latest release from the official project Stable Release PPA. To do this, open a terminal window and enter the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:shutter/ppa
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install shutter
