Hulu, the popular American TV streaming site, today finally launched a native Linux desktop application for their service.
Built on Fedora and Ubuntu 9.04, the app is designed to play nice with Ubuntu from the get go. Its only dependencies are: –
- GTK+ 2.12 or higher
- GLib 2.16 or higher
- LIRC 0.8.2 or higher (required for remote control functionality)
Which all come pre-installed on Ubuntu! Hurrah!
Sadly i have no way to test Hulu as it’s an American-only service at the moment. (It is due to launch in the UK during 2010, though.) So be sure to let me know how it goes in the comments!
