Virtual wallets at the read: PayPal support is coming to the Ubuntu Software Centre later this month Canonical has announced.
Support for PayPal payments in Ubuntu has long been requested, particularly by users in geographically locations unsupported by the current Ubuntu payment service.
Adding PayPal to the checkout service will greatly expand the availability of paid titles and applications, making Ubuntu more profitable for developers and, in turn, more attractive as a development platform.
Stuart Metcalfe, who announced the news, says that Canonical are hoping to launch the feature ‘before christmas’.
