One way in which Ubuntu 10.04 will alert users of the need to restart their machines is by turning the panel power icon red.
An unobtrusive yet excellent way to notify users who may have pushed away the need for a restart.
This “red-ifying” effect can also be seen on the sound applet icon when muted and an application tries to play sound.
