I’m just writing to apologise as we currently have intermittent/extremely slow internet in our postcode today hence the lack of updates.
To make up for it, here’s a bunch of stuff all in one go, including some great app updates and theme proposals.
Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.1 Released
Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.1 has been released bringing with it a few new features such as dependency resolution, metacity button arranging and notification configuration… The usual stuff.
If you’re using the Ubuntu Tweak PPA you’ll already have it by now, otherwise head on over to the official website to download it!

On the subject of Ubuntu Tweak Christopher Tozzi of Business-Orientated Ubuntu Blog ‘WorksWithU’ wrote up a rather harsh, but objective, review of Ubuntu Tweak. I think he slightly over-sells the replication factor in it but it’s well worth a read if you’re interested!
Proposed Lucid Wallpaper
MadsRH posted the following wallpaper proposal by Saleel Velankar over on his ever-awesome blog.
Although I was saddened to hear the image won’t be getting used (Mascots on wallpaper = instant no-no thesedays) its a great wallpaper for any Alpha tester out there to use.
Homosapien Metacity Updates
After the massively positive reaction you guys gave to the Homosapien metacity yesterday, the artist has made yet more mock-ups in different ‘themes’ and with improvements.
Hopefully eHomosapien will see the light of day soon — I want it now!
