Let’s take a break of all the wonderful UDS coverage to explore the first steps towards a new Podcast UI in Banshee. The always hardworking Gabriel Burt has been adapting the Grid view which Banshee users will already know from the Music and Audiobook libraries to the Podcast library. The new podcast experience still unfinished and lacks polish but that has never stopped the OMG army from enjoying a bit of bling.
Gabriel has also been working on a new branch of Hyena, a library which powers Banshee and F-spot, giving them amongst other things powerful database handling and access to a set of UI enhancements. This derives from the now defunct Cubano project and is entitled Canvas, what this will be used for is still not certain but the OMG faithful shall be the first to know once it starts being used.
