The popular Ubuntu-derived distribution ‘Linux Mint’ is considering adopting the Faenza icon set for use in their upcoming Linux Mint 10 release.

Leaving a comment on the Faenza gnome-look page regarding a bug, Mint developer ‘Clem’ comments: –

“We’re considering using most of the theme in the upcoming Linux Mint 10.

As we’re working on it to adapt it, I came across a fix you might be interested in.”

The Faenza icon set has fast risen to become on of the most popular third-party additions available, clocking up an impressive 47, 000 downloads from its deviant art page alone.

A PPA was introduced for users to keep up-to-date with icon changes early last month.

Linux Mint claims to be the 4th most popular operating-system after Windows, OS X and Ubuntu respectively.
