The addition of lower pledge perks has helped Canonical’s Ubuntu Edge campaign soar past the $4 million mark.
Although still a long way shy of the full $32 million goal, the project has secured a placed in crowd-funding history by generating such a massive amount of money in less than 3 days.
The campaign is seeking funding to create the ‘formula 1’ of smartphones. It will use high-end components not normally used in consumer-grade electronics.
Backers pledging $600 or more will, should the goal be met by August 22nd, receive an Ubuntu Edge device in May of next year.
