Hardcore Banshee user Leo McArdle sent in the following handy tip: –

“Hey, today I stumbled upon the NOT operator in the search of banshee.

For example, if I want to only see tracks without “demo” in their title, searching for “NOT demo” will do that.

Awesome, eh?”

I certainly think so.

A large chunk of my music library is marked with ‘demo’, ‘remix’, ‘mix’, ‘live’, etc. Being able to effortlessly omit them when searching it very handy.

You can even use the ‘NOT’ operator multiple times in one search: –
