I’ve been meaning to review the new-developer orientated app ’Illumination Software Creator’ for the last fortnight but just haven’t found time.

It seems that doesn’t matter now, as, for a limited time, you can buy the software for whatever price you want – giving you ample chance to form your own opinion..

The ‘pay what you want’ offer was launched by the developers of Illumination, Radical Breeze, to apologise for a delay in releasing the latest version of the app on schedule.

You’ll even get a free upgrade to version 4.0 when it’s released in the coming weeks.

The offer won’t be lasting long so take advantage whilst you can, folks.

Illumination Software Creator runs on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.

What is Illumination Software Creator?

Radical Breeze, the developers behind Illumination Software Creator, claim that the software “Allows anyone to create their own software applications without writing a single line of “code”‘.

How? “[By arranging] colorful building blocks of functionality however you like to create …unique software.”

Now before you get to excited and think that Illumination is the lego of application development, I’ll warn you that creating software using it still requires a bit of know-how.

Documentation is available in the form of several very long, but very informative instructional videos, and a user forum boasts further information and help.

Example applications created using the software are available, including a Twitter application and a Dice simulator.

Yeah the last one beats me too.

Perhaps the neatest thing about the application is its platform support. Illumination only requires you to create your software once, but can then export it to run on Android, iPhone, iPad, Desktops and Flash websites.

Head on over to radicalbreeze.com for further information and the all important ‘Buy’ link.

Note: this offer is not available through the Ubuntu Software Centre.
