Ubuntu Icon Theme ‘Nitrux’ Gets Updated With New Icons

Nitrux-umd – our Ubuntu friendly spinoff of the minimal ‘Nitrux’ icon theme has been updated with a variety of new icons and bugfixes.

Changes

What’s new? There are new icons to be found for many apps, including:

  • System Settings
  • Dropbox
  • Google Chrome
  • OMG! Ubuntu!
  • Polly
  • Printer
  • Rhythmbox
  • Various Qt apps (Qt assistant, QT Designer, QT Linguist, QT Settings)
  • Terminal
  • Xnoise

There are also improved icons for Kazam, Smuxi and Shutter to name but three.

Fixes for panel indicator icons and Unity’s workspace switcher are also included.

Installation

Getting the theme is easy. Open a Terminal and run the following commands: –

  • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kokoto-java/omgubuntu-stuff
  • sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install nitrux-umd

Once installed the icon theme can be enabled using a third-party look like ‘MyUnity’.
