One of the things I love about the open-source community is that the “death” of a project doesn’t always mean the end of it.

Last week we reported that development on Pinta, the user-friendly graphics editing app for Linux, had come to a halt due to a lack of time and motivation on the part of its sole developer.

But that’s not where the story ends for Pinta: a handful of users interested in developing and maintaining the app have begun exchanging e-mails with a view to releasing a small bug fix release shortly. Focus will then turn to the creation of a roadmap for future development.

So if you’re a Pinta user miffed by the abrupt loss – relax: It seems that Pinta isn’t ready to kick the digital paint bucket just yet…

Thanks to Bill M.
