Today’s OMG! 5! is a selection of five excellent wallpapers by the talented John Baer.

Maverick Dunes

Several readers sent us a link to the following wallpaper by ~jbaer – and we can see why!

Titled ‘Maverick Dunes’ and created solely in Inscape, the wallpaper makes a wonderful alternative to the default Ubuntu wallpapers in both Lucid and Maverick.

Maverick Metro

The cartoon-styling’s of ‘Maverick Metro’ may not suit some, but will certainly attract others.

The bright colours and quirky aspects of this GIMP and Inkscape mastered piece are a welcome respite from the barrage of block colours that wallpaper trends are following of late.

Maverick Blush

Purple/Aubergine/Wine stain not your thing? ‘Maverick Blush’ harks back to the orange wallpapers of yesteryear with a predominately textured orange look.

A similar colour and texture is used in ‘Maverick Beginning’, which replaces the ‘pale ‘blush’ with vector  shapes, evoking an autumnal feeling.

Our last pick from JBaers gallery sees us return to aubergine and a bit of branding for Ubuntu 10.10 with this drape called, unsurprisingly, Maverick 10.10:
