If you get annoyed at having to constantly type in your password every time you boot into Ubuntu, why not “do without”?

Setting up auto-login is as easy as saying your name!

1. Go to SYSTEM > ADMINISTARTION > LOGIN WINDOW

2. For security reasons you’ll have to now enter your administrative password. Do so.

3. Go to the SECURITY tab and check “ENABLE AUTOMATIC LOGIN”, select the user name/profile that you want to auto-login with and then close the window to save the changes!

Now when you start Ubuntu, you’ll by-pass the login screen completely and be taken straight to your desktop.

Be aware that you will still need to type in your password for administrative activities such as installing programmes, making changes to setting etc.
