A new Ubuntu-orientated help platmform based on StackOverflow is now in public beta.

“Stack… what?”

Wikipedia sums it up neatly: –

“Stack Overflow is a website featuring questions and answers on a wide range of topics in computer programming. Users are able to ask and answer questions, and, through membership and active participation, to vote questions and answers up or down and edit questions and answers in a wiki fashion.”

Replace ‘computer programming’ with ‘Ubuntu questions’ and you’re on the money.

This new Ubuntu-specific resource allows users of all skills the ability to ‘to ask questions of one another in order to share ideas, solutions…’ and, through the use of tags, search and voting etc build up a high quality resource for users to refer to/be referred to when in need.

Check it out @ ubuntu.stackexchange.com – you don’t need to register to ask questions but make sure you give the FAQ a glance over beforehand.

Thanks to all who prodded us with this news.
