Docky Gets ‘Show Desktop’ Docklet

Janet Jackson once sang “The best things in life are free” – which makes me wonder whether she was a closet Linux user! Docky is an example of something amazing yet free.

Docky has gotten a very small new docklet – “Show Desktop”. For users using Docky in panel mode this has been a major ‘want’ for a little while now and will help round out a fully featured bottom panel replacement.

Prior to this addition users could manually create and add a ‘Show Desktop’ shortcut but this involved searching the Internet to find an application called wmctrl, creating a custom .desktop file using it and then adding that onto Docky. I.e. it required hassle.

‘Show Desktop’ docklet will pop up in the Docky PPA over the coming days and is already in Docky BZR.
