A new theme for USplash appeared in the Jaunty repositories yesterday. Although USplash is being replaced in Karmic Koala (more on this soon), this new Ubuntu start up screen is kind of a good send off.
The new splash screen that you’ll see when booting up Jaunty has a fixed size logo centred in the middle of the screen and a rather slick new ‘loading’ bar.
This coupled with Jaunty’s new log-in screen make for a very slick intro to your Ubuntu routine.
