Valve’s annual ‘Steam Summer Sale’ is now underway with a number of awesome Linux-friendly games available to buy with huge discounts.

And when I say awesome and huge, I do mean it.

Flagship Games

Just hours after debuting on Linux, the standout strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown was reduced by 75%, While this has since been (un)reduced to 50%, it’s still a huge saving on a stellar title.

The base release of XCOM: Enemy Unknown can be picked up for £7.49/$14.99, while the complete pack will set you back £12.49/$24.99. The offer runs between now and June 30.

Not that XCOM is unique in being a recently addition to the burgeoning Linux library to receive a discount. Sid Meier’s Civilization V, whose Linux port launched at the start of the month, is also part of the summer sale.

Currently available for $14.99 (50% less than usual) but is highly likely to be ‘spotlighted’ (i.e., reduced further) as the sale progresses — it may pay to be patient on this one.
