Unity 8 has been demoed running on top of Mir.
Ubuntu software developer Didier Roche shared a short clip of the Ubuntu Touch interface running natively on Mir. No Android surfaceflinger (What Ubuntu Touch currently uses), and no halfway-house xMir malarkey, either. Proper ‘Mir’.
While the performance is far from perfect – I haven’t seen this much screen flickering since I used a coat-hanger for a TV aerial in the 90s – it still gives a glimpse at progress made thus far.
Ubuntu Touch Version 1.0 is due for release in October.
