Meet the TUXEDO InfinityBook S 15.
This is a 15.6-inch laptop somehow squeezed (possibly through magic) into a 14-inch laptop chassis. The device comes pre-loaded with a choice of Linux distros (including encrypted Ubuntu), and packs in some pretty powerful internals.
With a 92 percent screen-to-body-ratio, the InfinityBook boasts sip thin bezels and a full HD display (part of me would like to see QHD, aka 2K, screens become the norm, but I digress).
The TUXEDO InfinityBook S 15 base configuration starts at €937. This gets you an Intel Core i5-1135G7, Intel Iris Xe Graphics, 8 GB of 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM, and a 250 GB Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SSD.
Configuration options are naturally available, albeit at increased cost. You can upgrade to a faster Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, slot in up to 64GB RAM, and pick from an assortment of M.2 and/or NVMe storage choices.
A Linux laptop of this size and spec would make a good workstation, and a good workstation needs a plethora of ports. TUXEDO duly oblige.
The InfinityBook 15 S touts a Thunderbolt 4 (aka USB Type-C 4.0) port capable of outputting 2 4K displays displays (and power charging); a regular USB Type-C 3.2 port; 2 regular USB ports; a microSD card slot; full-size HDMI out, 3.5mm audio jack; and the requisite Rj45 ethernet port.
TUXEDO reckon the device is for up 19 hours of battery life idle, and up to 12 hours under general use. With a full-size backlit keyboard (yes, it has a Tux key) productivity would be much of an issue, and neither will networking thanks to built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1.
