An updated version of RSS-aware – an indicator applet for displaying and alerting you to new news items in given feeds – is available for download.

This version sees the addition of a long-awaited “Quit” button, along with new “About” dialogue to help users quickly find version number and developer info.

No ‘mark all as read’ button – yet

RSS-Aware would benefit hugely from a ‘clear all’ button.

As it currently stands items only disappear when clicked on. That’s fine if you love reading every post from a site such as ours (;)) but less cool when it’s BBC News World Edition.

If you think you have the talent to make that happen do get in touch with the developer via his site (his e-mail is at the bottom).

You’d make a lot of users very happy.
