With the release of Ubuntu 9.04 ‘Jaunty Jackalope’ now just days away from release, Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols at computerworld.com has shared a list of his favourite five things about the new edition of the mammalian-monikered Linux distro.
He described the release as providing ‘good solid features and better performance’, praises GNOME 2.26 for offering an ‘integrated desktop experience‘, and highlights the advances in X.Org server as providing ‘peppier video performance’.
He also notes the great improvement in Ubuntu’s new default sound system, Pulseaudio.
Interested in reading the whole thing? Of course you are, so skip over to ComputerWorld to check it out in full, and let me know which features are your favourite in the commends.

I’m currently experimenting with posts such as this that highlight coverage of Ubuntu in the wider blogosphere and tech news space. This blog won’t end up an aggregator, more just a few ‘spotlights’ to interesting and well written articles that may (or may not!) be of interest to Ubuntu users — all alongside regular content, of course.
