Xubuntu has announced the winners of its community wallpaper contest.
From 92 entries 10 photos have been selected to ship on the Xubuntu 16.04 LTS install image — 4 more than was originally planned.
Xubuntu says it “preferred to have more winners rather than trying to cut down the number to 6 exactly.”
And I’m sure you’ll agree, the winning backgrounds are all breathtakingly beautiful.
Xubuntu 16.04 LTS is due for release on April 21, alongside the rest of the Ubuntu flavor family. As a ‘short LTS’, the OS will receive select software updates, bug fixes and important security patches for three years.

You don’t need to install Xubuntu 16.04 to use these wallpapers, either. The ‘xubuntu-community-wallpapers’ package available in the Ubuntu 16.04 archives will add them to whatever flavor of Ubuntu you’re running.
Alternatively, if you want them right-this-cherry-picking-second you can download the following source file (28MB), extract, and use as you wish.
