The developers of popular third-party MSN client ’emesene’ have warned that some users may experience login issues with the stable version of the client.

The issue results from a change to the Windows Live Messaging service, which has rendered many third-party applications unable to connect.

“There have been some changes in Live Messenger servers which broke most of unofficial Live Messenger clients. We are currently investigating the issue and provided a temporary workaround that seems to be working for most of the people.”

A temporary solution for ardent users is to download and run a recent development snapshot of Emesene from its archive folder (extracted folder > emesene > double click on the ’emesene’ file and choose ‘Run’) until a fix-release can be issued.
